The Fifth Mountain
Paulo Coelho
The life of prophet Elijah proved that God is all for us. Made me realized that God allows us to struggle against His will when necessary to understand HIS own will for our lives. It doesn't mean HE loves us less it just goes to show that He has so much confident in us when HE called us to do something for HIS greater glory. We may step back when things get rough, we can even say at the back of our minds that we are "quitting". But God is not all after the victory, HE is more interested in what we become of, victory later. It's not about deserving the best we can get from God blessings. But understanding why we are showered with favor. God is good when we are not. God is just and we are the most stubborn of all. And yet, He never turns His back on us. It is we who ignores His teachings. It is we who choose to be hard on ourselves. It is we who make our lives complicated. And it's not a sin to challenge God I learned. At the end of every struggle, God receives us with open arms, reaffirming that He sees us the same way when HE first conceived us in HIS mind. Admit it, We are His. Your choice to escape or remain in His care.
excerpts from the book:
There are moments when God demands obedience. But there are moments in which He wishes to test our will & challenges us to understand His love. Thus, we struggle...The brave are always stubborn...From heaven, God smiles contentedly, for it was this that He desired, that each person take into his hand the responsibility for his own life. For in the final analysis, He had given his children the greatest of all gifts: the capacity to choose and determine their acts.
